Somewhere on BookTok is a book you were promised would ruin you. You remember it had a dark green cover, enemies to lovers, the creator cried on camera. What you do not remember is the title, the author, or which of the forty videos you watched that night it was in.
Vibes are not searchable, but books are. Here is how to close the gap.
Hunting a book by its vibe
If you still have the video, the comments almost always have the title: BookTok commenters are generous in a way movie-clip commenters are not, and creators usually list titles in the caption or a pinned comment. Scan hashtags too; #romantasy or #darkacademia plus one plot detail is often enough for a regular search to land it.
If the video is lost to the scroll, describe the plot in plain words to a search engine along with "booktok": "booktok book assassin competition fae court" works far better than "book with green cover". Goodreads lists are the other net; there is a list for practically every BookTok wave, and skimming covers on "popular booktok books" jogs memory fast.
